Week In The Life - Friday's Words & Photos

At some point the kids have to get it together and get their permission slips filled out the day before.  Thankfully hubby was home and did that part for me.  He also took the girls to school since it was my day off.

I finally got up and dressed.  I scored a new UA shirt at their super sale two weeks ago.  Being involved with student government has made me feel like I'm a real college student instead of someone just taking classes.

It's rare that I have the same day off as hubby as I usually spend it doing observations.  Today was the first day that I was able to be off and we started off having breakfast at one of our favorite places.  It's the small moments that I relish.

Home for a small break to just relax.  The temps are getting hotter and so my fans run 24/7 right now.  I think we both could have passed out for a nap.

Our relaxation didn't last for long.  We headed into town to pickup a veggie tray for Victoria's field trip.  The quick stop at the store meant I had time to pickup a drink as well.  I know Starbucks are expensive, but the drinks are amazing.  We also stopped at Jimmy Johns to pickup sandwiches for the field trip.  The got the times mixed up so I had to wait for a bit.  The food is good and they are super fast about having it ready.

We headed over to the park.  I don't know who is happier about going to high school, me or Victoria. She has a late birthday and has been waiting for what seems like forever.  The year has been really good for her.  She is more focused, calm, and has made some great friends.  Her grades have been amazing all year and will be entering in as an honors student.

Victoria usually doesn't sit in the front seat because the girl talks like no other.  There's the amount of words that boy and girls say and then there's the amount that Victoria says.  I made it her job to take a photo on our drive home and this is what I got :)
We were all wiped by the end of the school day.  Victoria passed out and so did I.  While I would love to blame the sun and wind, I think it's a combination of that and lack of sleep all semester.

The evening ended with this amazing lady.  She hosted a party for the 8th graders graduating.  I ended up going alone and it was so wonderful to see everyone.  My friend has been through hell and back the last few months.  She is strong and courageous and has incredible faith.  It was wonderful to see her laughing and enjoying the moment!!

Week In The Life - Thursday's Words & Photos

It doesn't matter how many times I tell the girls, they still use my half-bath to get ready in.  They think it's their own personal dressing room.

I was able to throw in a load of laundry before running out the door.

Today was one of the few days that we didn't have to anywhere right after school.  Lillian took advantage of it and played some games.  The downside to the Chromebook is that they think they can get on whenever they want to.

Hubby worked a different shift today so he was already gone by the time I got home.  I had a few moments to relax before heading out again.

Tonight is graduation for UAS.  I volunteered to help my friend serve food and cleanup.  I wish there were just as many people willing to help.  It's hard when you're one of a few people who are willing to stay as it makes for a long night.

I was able to sneak in and see part of the graduation.  I'm just one year away from crossing that stage.  It's been a long year, but listening to the speeches, it was just the motivation I needed to know it's much closer than I realize.

Afterwards, I took my amazing friend out for drinks.  The poor girl has been so sick and yet pushed through to finish the semester and run graduation.  It was so nice to sit and celebrate the end of the semester.  I am so bad about taking off my makeup so tonight I made sure that I got it all off.  I fell into bed and watched another episode of Grey's.  Hubby came home and we both passed out.

Week In The Life - Wednesday Words & Photos

The day started off like any other.  I did have a meeting at the college with my boss and professors who are willing to help with CyberPatriot trainings next year.  This is a program that I believe in and have been a part of for three years.  On the way back to the school I stopped gas and a Starbucks.  The Mango Black Tea Lemonade is my fave summer drink.  And I had leftover pizza - perfect match for lunch.

One of the things I love at this time of year is all of the cool projects that the teachers do with the kids.  The school year is usually so busy with specific standards and lessons that teachers don't have much time for fun projects.

When I got home, my iPsy was at the mailbox.  It is one of my favorite times during the month.  I love to see what products are in my bag.  This is one of my favorites because the bag is super cute and each item is one I will use.

My evening included a Capital Planning Committee meeting for the school district.  It's very scary how the state has cut so much funding from education.  This committee is coming up with a proposal to bring to the board in a few weeks.  Building structures and technology are the items that need immediate attention.

I finished off the evening with book club.  I have missed the last two and it was so nice to be able to sit around and discuss the book.  Of course we also talk about what's going on in our lives.

A teenage boy means it is hard to get a photo of him.  This was as good as it was getting tonight.

For the first time in a long time we went to bed together.  Hubby works nights so I only get two nights a week with him.  I was was wonderful to be able to lay next to him and know I didn't have to get up and do any work.

Week In The Life - Tuesday's Words & Photos

Some mornings I have time to turn on GMA.  I cannot wait till summer when I can enjoy an entire two hours and not have to leave the house!

Lillian is not a morning person and it takes several tries to get her up and moving.  She has been like this since she was really little.

After a long night of working, today calls for my Greens.  I may need a second dose after work.

Again, no car photo is complete without those two being silly.  I don't know what's going to happen next year when Victoria goes off to high school.  Mornings are filled with these two laughing and creating musical.lys

I love the view driving to work.  I love the wide open spaces and depending on the weather sometimes there is a nice fog.  Either way, the view cannot be matched.

I didn't think I would last the day without an XL coffee.  I rarely stop for coffee, but today was an exception.  The Starbucks is the opposite way, so I don't always get to stop there.

Today I'm at the girls' school.  More small projects to complete.  I am going to have to email my boss and ask what else I can work on.

I stopped in at the library and the teacher had her Title 1 group doing word bingo.  It is amazing to see the growth that the kids have made.

This is what my normal sleeping patterns look like.  I try to catch up on the weekends, but that may not always happen.  My work week is where I loose a lot of sleep depending on the projects I have to do for school.

The highlight of my day was watching Lillian run and finish in the top 3.  She loves to run and I cannot wait to see what she does next year.

And my semester is done!!  Somehow I made it all the way through.  Now to sit and wait for grades.  That is always the hardest part.

I survived the end of the day and somehow I am still standing.  Oh, and can I just say that my Younique lip stain lasts all day!!

Week In The Life - Monday's Words & Photos

After a late night of homework, it was really hard to get out of bed.  I barely heard Gabriel leave the house get to get on the bus.  I got a late start which means I'm usually running behind.

I have piles of clothes in my room mainly because I don't have room in my closet.  I need to find a place for my scarves that are taking up so much room.  With all my piles, it is hard to find what I'm going to wear to work.

It's been a struggle to get Victoria to eat breakfast or any meal.  She is trying to eat healthy, but also doesn't understand that you have to eat every meal and small snack in between.

My day is spent at a different site.  I work IT and work on any issues teachers and staff may have.  I am very lucky in that I am able to work my hours around my school schedule.  Some days are super busy and some are slow.  With the end of the year quickly approaching, my days are spend doing some behind the scenes work.

I love going back to my daughters' school at the end of the day.  The secretary is just amazing at how she can do a million things at once.  And she always does it with a smile on her face!

Tonight we had a fundraiser for the swim team.  My favorite pizza is the pesto from there.  I was able to get there early enough where didn't have to wait long.

I had to leave to make it down to the band concert.  Even though Gabriel is in high school, is old band teacher invited past students to come back and play.  The band teacher is so amazing and it really says something that students jump at the chance to come back and play for her.  It also means I get to enjoy social time with some wonderful moms!!

And my evening wraps up with more homework.  I have one last paper for my honors program to finish up.  It meant that I stayed up till 3am.
