FRIDAY

Ok I'm so glad it's Friday. Tonight my friend's church is doing Parent's Night Out. So she talked me into taking my kids and going to the movies with her. I didn't really want to, but I know it will be good to get out. Plus dh reminded me how can you pass up FREE babysiting. lol Tomorrow is Gabriel's birthday party. We're doing it at the indoor pool and it's a combined party with his best friend. So I got the last of the stuff for that. It's nice cause they both get a nice party and we split the cost. So I'll have pics up from that. And then Sunday I'm going to a Premier Jewelry Fashion Show. I'm excited because each jeweler gets to select 2 of her hostesses and I was one of them. So I'm excited to see the new line.

Sick

Why is it that once your husband leaves you end up getting sick? I don't know if I ate something bad or got it from the little one I babysit. But yesterday it hit me hard. Thankfully my friend came over so the kids swam. She brought dinner and cleaned up the kitchen. I'm so thankful for her. Thankfully I am feeling better.

Ballet

Lillian started another year of ballet. She did really well, though started to show off since I was there.

Quiet

I am really enjoying the quiet in my house. But you would think I would have to be home to enjoy it. After I took the kids to school I went to ballet class. Then ran to the grocery store. I forgot how fast you can get in and out when you have no kids and an organized list. I couldn't go back to sleep after Pablo went to work so after lunch I was able to take a nap. But of course the phone woke me up. So now I'm making dinner for us and dinner for a friend. I have to get the kids in a little bit and then Lillian has ballet.

The First Day

Today was the first day of school. I honestly expected more emotion. lol But the kids were ready and excited. Lillian had to approve the outfit the night before, which was not an easy task. It was so nice because Pablo was off and like every year has been there for the 1st day. He made them a nice breakfast and then we were off to school. I was a bit worried that Gabriel might have a bit of a time adjusting to his new teacher. He had the same teacher 2 years in a row and takes some time to adjust to changes. But he was just fine. Victoria has Mr. Nichols who Gabriel had for 2 years. So she was all set. We got to the playground and Lillian took off to play. She's been waiting 2 years to do that. lol She lined up and didn't cry or anything. After all the kids went in, we went to the Boo Hoo party. There were no tears on our end which maybe I cried them all out months ago. We had a very nice and quiet day. We went to see The Dark Night. Pablo is leaving soon for some time and it was nice to have a date. And I even got some scrapping in before we picked up the kids.

1st Haircut

We never got around to cutting Lillian's hair on her 1st birthday. Each year would pass and it just never happened. So finally I told her on her 5th Birthday we would cut it. At first she didn't want it cut at all because of ballet. But then when I showed her she would just get a trim then she was ok with it. I have a great hair stylist who does my hair and has done Victoria's hair too. So I asked her if she would do Lillian's first hair cut. She was so honored and treated Lillian like a princess.

Happy Birthday!!!

Last Thursday was Lillian's birthday. I can't believe she is 5 years old now!!! For her bday she and her best friend went to Teddy Bear Connection. The both picked out the same animal, a pink and white unicorn. Lillian named her StarStar. lol Then we went to McDonalds where her other friend joined us. They each got a happy meal, had cake, played and Lillian opened her gifts. She was so excited.

Swimming

This summer the kids had a month of swim lessons. I love how the pool changed the program a bit. Now the classes are smaller so the kids get more one on one instruction. After a month of swimming Gabriel is moving up to Level 4 and Lillian passed so she and Victoria will be Level 3 swimmers. I'm wondering how Lillian is going to do in the higher level. Her instructor said she is more than ready, but she's still so little. Since school is starting in a week, we won't be doing lessons till Dec. By then soccer will be over and the kids will be ready for another activity. I have been putting them in lessons since they were 6 months old. I did this so that they would never be afraid of water. Now the opposite has happened and they are like a bunch of fish that you can't get out! lol

Photography

I am taking an online photography course. I know some basic info, but would love to be come proficient at using my XTi. The class is going well and I'm learning a lot. This photo I took yesterday in full manual mode. Our assignment is to switch the focal point. I usually shoot with my focal point in the center. So I switched it up and put it on the bottom. I love the affect I got. I didn't alter it in PSE and I'm thinking I will probably blow this one up! lol

Happy 4th!!!

We had a good 4th of July! The morning started out with Victoria having an exhibition at the park. She did really well. Thankfully we got there early enough to sit in the shade. Later on my friend had a cook-out at her house. I got some pics of the fireworks and one of me and Tony. Too bad I didn't remember to get any of the kids. I think this is the first year that happened. Oh well.
